Last season's Super League champions Kelantan, look strong on paper for the upcoming season and they have made signings to cement their status as the nation's top team. Peter James Butler returns after Datuk M.Karathu resigned from his post as the first team coach of Kelantan. The former BEC Tero Sasana manager is a fan favourite, having coached the team in 2008.
Ghanaian winger Denny Antwi and Lebanon international forward Mohammad Ghaddar have been brought in to play in the Malaysian Super League while another two, Lebanese winger Zakaria Charara and Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Okine will only be playing in the AFC Cup.
Ghaddar, 27, comes with great credentials. One of the most feared strikers in the Middle East, he has proven international pedigree though he has yet to hit top form with his new side.
Kelantan have also signed attacking midfielders Indra Putra Mahayuddin, Norfarhan Mohammad and defender Azizi Mat Rose from T Team Terengganu. Striker Azlan Ismail, who had a mixed time with Kedah, will be donning the red and white stripes as well and will be providing competition for Ghaddar and Malaysian attacking sensation Norshahrul Idlan Talaha.
Arguably the most enthralling side in the league and with the likes of Khairul Fahmi, Fahrisham Ismail, Nurul Azwan Roya and inspirational captain Badri Radzi all setting their hearts on winning honours, Kelantan will definitely be a tough nut to crack this season.
